August 12th, Trampoline conducted a focus group with Grand Gorge stakeholders at the Grand Gorge Civic Center. A presentation* was given that showed examples of other DRI projects Trampoline has worked on. Attendees were invited to answer questions about Grand Gorge to inform the creative direction the brand will take. A sampling of responses:
What is your hope for the future of Grand Gorge?
Bringing the spark back, community connection, authenticity, clean, quaint, reface the town, opportunities for small businesses
Describe the character of the town:
Hard working, family, rural, Mayberry, salt of the earth, resilient, self-sufficient, creative, beautiful, scenic, simple, home.
How is Grand Gorge perceived?
Someone driving through Grand Gorge may see buildings in need of repair and assume there is little else here. They may not know about the farms, the former railroad and creamery, the businesses that once filled downtown, or the people investing time and effort in its future. Grand Gorge is a community, not just an intersection on the way to somewhere else. I hope the new branding encourages people to stop, learn its history, meet its people, and see the revitalization taking shape.
